1942 – Dad & Bud & Marie all worked Marie vacation over Today. I got a permenant Today They are about To finish Gaurd well.

1943 – Dad slept I ironed Marie came by & we took her home. xmas cards today  I Must get Buds package off.

Grama would have been very concerned that the Gaurd well was about to be finished because that would mean they would have to move to another location when Grampa got on at another well.There seem to have been periods of unemployment so it looks like they weren’t assured of immediate work when one well was done.
