1942 Aubrey worked today I washed & paid the rent for Another week Lou Moved into Camp tonight

1943 Boys went To work evening Tour they are going to spud in today – Marie & I walked over to pats Marie is going home Tomorrow

1944 No entry

1945 Sun. got up late Marie went To church. Daddy & I Just stayed home he went To work at 3.30. I & Marie wrote letters

1946 No entry

1943 post: In the oil drilling industry there is a term called “spudding.” To spud comes from the Middle English word, “spudde” meaning a short knife. In oil drilling “spudding” means the very start of drilling on a new well.
