#13 (catching up) Georgia Mary Coakley is my paternal grandmother. My father, Henry Burl Stevens Jr., is her son. She was born on 29 March 1905 in Kentucky. She married my grandfather, Henry Burl Stevens Sr and they had four children. By the time her second child was born they were living in Indiana where she lived most of her life. She died in January of 1978 back in Kentucky where she lived with her daughter.

She always told us she was descended from people who owned plantations but I didn’t realize what that really meant until I got into this family history research. I wish I had asked more questions while she was living. (This will be a theme throughout my posts.)  I will post more about her ancestors later.

I remember her as a smiling person who liked to joke and have fun.
